New $1 Million Grant Will Strengthen Area Nonprofits and Serve Residents Hardest Hit by Economy PDF Print E-mail

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded the AIM Institute a $1 million grant through the Strengthening Communities Fund. During a two-year period, AIM — through its Compassion Institute of the Midlands partnership with the Nonprofit Association of the Midlands — will award $600,000 to area nonprofits to improve their capacity-building efforts. Grant funds will also be used to develop training and resources to serve unemployed and underemployed area residents who have been hit hardest by the economy. More
