The Midwest Center for Information Technology (MCIT) is a partnership of 10 community colleges in the four-state region of Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. MCIT works in collaboration with K-12 school districts, four-year colleges and universities, and employers to strengthen and expand the region's information technology workforce. The center was created through funding from the National Science Foundation through its Advanced Technological Education program.

MCIT has achieved excellent results through its local and regional efforts to support faculty development, increase students’ interest in information technology and increase student enrollment in educational programs focused on IT careers. All of these results contribute toward developing a workforce better prepared to take on the challenges of today’s workplace.
