Careerlink.com Joins Forces with Southeast Nebraska Print E-mail

June 2009

Jobseekers and many southeast Nebraska businesses can now benefit from a new AIM Institute partnership offering its Careerlink.com services. Southeast Nebraska Partners for Progress, on behalf of many of the communities in southeast Nebraska, has signed an agreement to help provide and subsidize AIM’s Careerlink.com job-posting service for its small- and medium-sized members using existing grant funds.

“As well as being a great tool for jobseekers to enhance their search for the right career in the area, this partnership provides a new employee recruiting venue for businesses that otherwise may not post on the Internet. And, it gives Careerlink.com the ability to provide its services in the southeast region in a more comprehensive manner,” says Rod Armstrong, AIM’s vice president of strategic partnerships.

Southeast Nebraska Partners for Progress specializes in economic and workforce development for southeast Nebraska communities. The organization anticipates growth in the region and feels that posting online is required to market to today’s jobseekers.

“This regional website is just one more way we can reach former, current and potential residents within and outside the region and show them the great employment, business and quality-of-life opportunities that southeast Nebraska offers,” says Stephanie Shrader, executive director of River Country Economic Development Corp. “We look forward to partnering with Careerlink.com! It will be a great tool for recruiting skilled applicants to our area.”

Southeast Nebraska Partners for Progress will soon provide a website to help attract people to the area. And now through this new partnership, AIM will provide its robust job-posting services on community websites from Nebraska City to Falls City to Burchard to Syracuse as well as on its high-traffic Careerlink.com site. Although small-to-medium-sized businesses are the target of this partnership, some of the region’s larger employers will be asked to join in to make it even more successful.

“Reaching out to new workers and new markets is always a challenge,” Armstrong says. “Careerlink.com offers the best of technology to help meet employer and jobseeker needs.”

AIM, which has focused on expanding its Careerlink.com services across Nebraska, is now working with the western, southwestern and southeastern regions of the state. These partnerships have served to kick-start area workforce efforts, providing the critical mass of jobs needed to capture the attention of jobseekers.

For southeast Nebraska, this partnership provides cost-efficient Internet job-posting services to enable its communities to work more effectively toward their growth goals. For AIM, this partnership has helped extend its mission throughout the state to recruit talent to Nebraska.
