Throughout April and May 2009, almost 2,000 Nebraska college students submitted resumes and applied for positions during the 3rd Annual Nebraska Statewide Collegiate eFair. In turn, more than 80 companies from Scottsbluff to Omaha posted their profiles on the eFair, receiving applications from students graduating from the 20 participating colleges and universities.
The AIM Institute and Careerlink.com partnered with the Nebraska College Career Services Association (NCCSA)
to provide the eFair, an entirely web-based "job fair" reserved
exclusively for students and alumni from participating institutions.
"The NCCSA eFair is a great collaboration among Nebraska's colleges and universities," says Chris Timm, associate director of the University of Nebraska - Lincoln Career Service Center and the 2007-2009 president of the NCCSA.
Timm says that although each institution has unique programs and services for their
students and alumni, the eFair is a way to reach out together to
provide career services for individuals educated throughout Nebraska. "People in the community often ask, 'What do institutions do to help students learn about Nebraska employers and opportunities?' The eFair allows students to learn about employers from across the state."
