Collar Free is a clothing line that promotes independent artists worldwide utilizing an online design and e-commerce platform for fashion built with a community of graphic and fashion designers. A global network of freelance graphic designers and artists submit new clothing design ideas at Collarfree.com every day. Then fans of the brand choose their favorite designs. Every week the company prints the most popular design submissions which go for sale on the company’s website and into select clothing retailers. The winning artists receive recognition for the design and royalties off every sale. Collar Free then leverages the community to create additional revenue opportunities for the company and the designers. Collar Free started with t-shirts to prove the model and is expanding into additional apparel lines in earl y 2009. This model predicts demand and incentivizes winning designers to promote the company and create sales.
