We work to promote the use of the best practices
developed in conjunction with our partners to better leverage resources,
standardize the quality of IT education across the region, and better prepare
students for college and career success. The following is an example:
Technology Academies of
Northeast Nebraska (TANN) – The TANN partnership provides high school juniors
and seniors the opportunity to take advanced-level technology classes while
earning high school credit and receiving college credit with free tuition. This
unique partnership began in 2003 between five Nebraska public school
districts — Battle Creek, Madison, Norfolk, Pierce, and Stanton — and
two colleges — MCIT partner Northeast Community College and Wayne State College.
Since receiving a National
Science Foundation grant in 2005, the concept of providing high level
instruction through shared resources is now being replicated in other
"regional sites" within the
Northeast Community College
district so school districts can work together and maximize the use of
resources through the sharing of instructors and students. Learn More...
