The AIM Institute encourages organizations to collaborate as AIM members and partners to help prepare Nebraska and the surrounding region for the quickly evolving challenges and opportunities of the Information Age.

In 1991, 15 corporations pledged sponsorship commitments to form the AIM Institute. These founders, strongly motivated by a desire to foster economic development in the region, saw information technology as key to growth and recognized continuing education as essential to technology leadership. While expecting direct benefits to eventually accrue, civic commitment inspired their successful incubation and nurturing of AIM.

Although AIM has successfully developed other revenue sources through grants as well as services such as Careerlink.com, corporate membership remains critical as the foundation for AIM operations. Memberships unite this coalition of companies working toward mutual goals that benefit the entire community.

Today, more than 175 business, government and educational partners have joined AIM to help build better communities through technology. Together, AIM and its partners address technology and workforce needs and leverage economic development opportunities by:

° Making contributions to workforce & economic development in Nebraska & surrounding region.
° Being active in the IT professionals community.
° Bringing new knowledge to future challenges & driving innovative solutions.
° Being recognized & empower AIM to celebrate the region’s IT community & its accomplishments.
° Playing a role in the development & sustaining of a skilled talent pool.
° Being a part of recruiting talent to the region using the Careerlink.com strategy.
