WFI Update:
The Nebraska WorkForce Index (WFI), which compares labor availability to job availability in Nebraska, fell from 1.69 to 1.55 in the third quarter of 2010, aided by a 7.5% percent decrease in the number of unemployed workers from second to third quarter and an increase in job postings in that same time span. The closer the index is to 1.0, the closer Nebraska is to full employment - the continued decline indicates movement toward economic stability and post-recession recovery. The state’s unemployment rate dropped to 4.3% (from 4.8%).
