Frank Shimerdla Print E-mail
Frank ShimerdlaFrank Shimerdla currently serves as Director of Resource Development and lead grant writer for the AIM Institute, a position he has held since he joined AIM in 2006.   Prior to his tenure at AIM, Frank worked in grants at Metropolitan Community College and the College of Saint Mary.  He holds an M.F.A. in Writing from Vermont College and a B.F.A. from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. In addition to his role at AIM, Frank currently teaches in the Writer’s Workshop at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he has taught in adjunct role since 2004, and he is also an aspiring poet whose work has appeared in Gulf Stream, the Red River Review and other journals.  Frank enjoys spending time with his five children (Jonathan, Elizabeth, Mary, Lucia and Thomas).  Of course, with five children, he especially enjoys the company of his wife, Monica, who helps him feed, care for, and discipline their lot.
