The Technology Guru of the Year Award offers a special category for anyone in the technology arena to be recognized for his or her personal commitment and contribution.  
 
The informal industry title of ‘guru’ reflects in its granting the recognition of 'an intellectual guide'.  The guru delivers an innovative approach that produces results and influences others to better performance.  The guru's leadership is not only constructive in the present tense but enriches those that practice what is offered.

Dr. Mark Roth
Senior Scientist
Science Applications International Corporation

Dr. Mark Roth is a Senior Scientist working for SAIC on projects of large scale and significant importance for the United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM). He is the acknowledged expert relating to their Enterprise Data Base.

Mark has been a part of major decisions involving USSTRATCOM software or data including areas such as performance, database integrity and maintainability, war plan maintenance schedules and web-based applications.

Dr. Roth has been the technical lead of a 12-person team of database experts that provided sustained support to the Joint Functional Component Command for Global Strike Integration, providing complete planning and execution support for several key projects. He provided expert advice on the Department of Defense's Net-Centric Data Strategy including briefings to DoD leadership.

Dr. Roth has been an active board member of local professional organizations and a frequent presenter at infotec and recently at the Global Information Grid at the 2006 AFCEA Technet conference.

For his all-round commitment to excellence, Mark Roth is the 2007 Technology Guru of the Year.
