2008 Outstanding Community Service in Technology Award PDF Print E-mail

From time to time the AIM Institute recognizes an individual for an extraordinary contribution to the community. 2008 is such a year with the presentation of the Outstanding Community Service in Technology Award.

Brenda Decker
CIO
State of Nebraska

Brenda Decker is the CIO for the State of Nebraska. In that capacity she is responsible for overall management and oversight of information services for state government. She is recognized nationally for her IT leadership, including being named one of the Top 25 "Doers, Dreamers and Drivers of IT in Government" and one of "the five most influential women CIO's in government" by Government Technology magazine.

The Center for Digital Government's annual Digital States Survey recognizes the most digitally advanced state governments in the nation. Brenda's efforts led directly to Nebraska being ranked 14th in the nation, ahead of Massachusetts, New York and California.

Brenda has brought strong and effective leadership to a very large and diverse organization. She strives to make decisions and develop solutions in the best interests of taxpayers and state government.

For her dedication, service and the national recognition she has brought to Nebraska in technology, Brenda Decker is honored with the Outstanding Community Service in Technology Award for 2008.
