The
Celebration Award for Technology Chief of the Year
recognizes an individual in executive leadership with responsibility for the implementation
and delivery of an organization’s information technology.
Jim Hanson
Executive Vice President
Information Services
Mutual of Omaha
Jim Hanson's management philosophy, "Get the right people in the right jobs and let them run," has served Mutual of Omaha well. He has a unique skill of recognizing talent and using his strength of motivation to achieve stellar results. One example, overall IT expenditures have decreased by 19 percent from 2004 to 2007.
Mutual of Omaha was honored in 2007 by the Project Management Institute as one of the top project management organizations in the country. This was due in large part to Jim's keen insight and strategic planning 10 years ago to improve the project management process in Information Services.
With over a decade of success, Jim has proven he can balance the components of people; process and technology; reliability with innovation; and unwavering integrity in all decisions.
Congratulations to Jim Hanson, the 2008 Technology Chief of the Year.
