2008 Technology Guru of the Year |
|
|
|

The informal industry title of ‘guru’ reflects in its granting the
recognition of 'an intellectual guide'. The guru delivers an
innovative approach that produces results and influences others to
better performance. The guru's leadership is not only
constructive in the present tense but enriches those that practice what
is offered.
Chris Cox
Lead Network Administrator
Peter Kiewit Institute
University of Nebraska at Omaha
Chris Cox has been described as the glue that holds the IT department together at the Peter Kiewit Institute. His vision and leadership inspire others to improve themselves and are instrumental in getting projects accomplished.
Chris was a primary co-founder of what has now become the Holland Computing Center. This center houses one of the nation's fastest super computers and demonstrates the latest technology available from Dell, APC and Microsoft.
These "out-of-the-box" ideas and their successful implementation have benefited both students and businesses now and will carry on to the future.
Chris has shown leadership, talent and belief in the possibilities of technology. These are qualities every "guru" would subscribe to. It is this unique vision, approach and execution that has qualified Chris Cox as the 2008 Technology Guru of the Year.
