postsecondary faculty member or administrator for meritorious
performance within the realm of technology and education.
Dr. Hesham Ali
Professor of Computer Science and the Lee D. and Willa Seeman Distinguished Dean
College of Information Science and Technology at the Peter Kiewit Institute
University of Nebraska at Omaha
Dr. Hesham Ali, through his teaching, research, service, and leadership, has made significant contributions to enhancing information technology in Nebraska.
In the words of UNO Chancellor John Christensen, "Hesham Ali excels in everything he does — research, community service, teaching, and administration."
Dr. Hesham Ali has been a leader in the emerging discipline of bioinformatics. Over the last several years, he has been actively involved in research and teaching in this exciting and rapidly growing field that uses computer technology and information science to study biological information and structures.
