Did you know that roughly 25% of all online transactions in the United States take place on eBay? With more than 200 million registered users, eBay has grown into the world’s largest marketplace. AIM Institute offers an introductory course as well as an all-day course on eBay basics. Both sessions are hosted by AIM's Director of Training, Dave Coover. Dave is an Education Specialist trained by eBay University and has been a listing assistant and member of Ebay for many years. Courses Taught

Introduction to eBay (2 Hours)

Come and learn about how to create an eBay account, differentiate between types of auctions, understand fee schedules, use Paypal to pay for purchased items, and protect yourself from fraudulent buyers and sellers. This session does not require a computer lab and is aimed at an audience of 20 to 40 people. Live Internet is required for the speaker. The fee is $250 per session for up to 40 individuals. This class has been presented to Kiwanis Clubs, at public libraries, church groups, and school PTO's. While it is not a prerequisite for the "Basics of Selling On Ebay" course, many who take this course sign up for the "Basics" course to further their Ebay education.
 

Basics Of Selling On eBay (7 hours)

The "Basics Of Selling On eBay" seminar is seven hours, and the fee includes a 200-page workbook, which details the information and subject materials covered in the seminar. This class is a basic introduction to eBay, but it also covers:

  • How to register and set up an eBay account.
  • How to create an effective, searchable listing title.
  • How to write a good description.
  • How to price your item, set a reserve, and manage questions.
  • Safety and security issues.
  • Using PayPal to send and receive online payments.
  • Shipping by USPS and UPS, free box sources, shipping issues.

Individual Ebay Buying & Selling Instruction (2 Hour Minimum)

If attending classes just isn't your cup of tea, Dave also offers individualized training sessions (maximum of three people). Instruction is tailored to the needs of the student. A working internet connection is required as well as a working Macintosh or Windows (XP or higher) computer. The first two hours is $150, then $70/hr after the first two-hour session.
