During the 2007 Visual Storytelling and Data Visualization Breakfast Series, eight world-renowned experts on
visual design visited Omaha. This annual event which takes place during the months of September, October, and November has grown each year
in popularity and is provided to the community by the Gallup Organization, AIM Institute, Peter
Kiewit Institute, and other business sponsors.
The speakers provided insight
on the use of next-generation tools, color and emotion to visualize data in a more
intuitive, dynamic, and interactive manner. The ability to display
quantitative business data successfully is not intuitive; it requires a
set of visual design skills that must be learned. Even the best data is useless if its story is poorly told.
