Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC) is a federally funded college access program through the U.S. Department of Education as part of the Federal TRIO Programs. The program is designed to support adults and out-of-school youth in accessing and succeeding in postsecondary education.

EOC focuses on individuals who are ready to take the next step toward college or career training but need guidance navigating the process.

Participants often include those returning to education after time in the workforce or those looking to upskill or change career paths.

  • EOC provides personalized, one-on-one support to help participants successfully enter and persist in postsecondary education or training programs. Core services include:

    • Academic and career advising

    • Assistance with college and training program selection

    • Support with admissions applications

    • Financial aid guidance, including FAFSA completion

    • Assistance with high school equivalency (GED) pathways

    • Career planning and workforce alignment

    Services are typically delivered through:

    • Individual advising sessions

    • Workshops and information sessions

    • Flexible scheduling to meet the needs of adult learners

  • EOC primarily serves:

    • Adults seeking to enroll in college or career training programs

    • Individuals without a high school diploma or equivalency

    • First-generation college-bound individuals

    • Individuals from limited-income households

  • EOC is designed to increase access to and success in postsecondary education and training. Participants are more likely to:

    • Enroll in college or credentialing programs

    • Complete financial aid processes successfully

    • Earn a high school equivalency credential (if needed)

    • Transition into career pathways aligned with their goals

At AIM Institute, EOC is implemented with a focus on access, flexibility, and career alignment.

AIM connects participants to both traditional college pathways and high-demand, short-term training opportunities, including programs aligned with technology and innovation careers.
